A nice condo in a higher end gated community runs around $100k in and around Manila. Outside of Manila a nice house will run maybe $30 to 50k, but you will need a guard and a security system. A live in maid will cost around $200 a month. Food there is cheap as f-ck but most of it sucks ass. if you want a car its not a bad investment to get bullet proof windshields for driving around at night.
And of course theres the hoards. You can spend anywhere between $15 and $200 for one on P. Burgos Street or Angeles City.
I dont see why you would. In the Philipines its a very good idea to live in a gated community with its own security. Everybody has guns, theres a ton of crime, and you will be robbed and probably kidnapped for a ransom within a month if you try and live with the locals. Plus you never know when the army is going to stage a random coup detat.
Like I said, even a nice place with security, a pool and everything in a gated community near a golf course runs around $100k, which is well worth it. Nothing good comes of trying to live cheaply in a place thats already f-cking cheap.

Ive had some awesome whoring experiences in the Pines tho. The upscale KTV clubs get some smouldering hot chicks in there, and $200 will get you the most beautiful girl in the whole country for a day.
But you will live like a prince, with a full time maid and no other real expenses to speak of. I think Id rather live a high class lifestyle in Manila than live some low class white trash lifestyle in Arkansas or wherever.
Age goes somewhere between 15 and 24. To get blown in the club can go as cheap as $10 or $15 bucks.

I'm the OP. Good info. Yeah 100K for a great place to live sounds just right. That would essentially leave me with 500K. Suppose I earn 3%, that's 15K a year without touching my money. Is it possible to live ok on that given that my accomodations will be paid for?
