growing up in Jackassville FL my parents sent me to a 92% black elementary school, RL Brown. the carrot was some gifted program and the assurance that my classroom would be 100% gifted (read, 90% white). they kept minorities in their own classrooms

i remember being really sad when i heard the number of blacks at the school. i must have had some f-cked up experiences with blacks in earlier grades.

some instances i remember:

*trying to talk to a black boy about his rambo lunchbox. i could not understand a word he said. i could make out "choppah" = helicopter after he pointed at the helicopter on the box and repeated it several times. he was a nice guy but this was my first exposure to someone who didn't talk like a white person so i couldn't really communicate with him

*black girl took my crayons. not a big deal. when i asked for them back she said they were hers. i asked the teacher if i could get my crayons back, pointing out that my name was written largely across the front in felt tip marker. i got them back and went back to coloring

*random black girl flipping me off and staring daggers at me when i looked at her from a bus window

lots of good experiences with blacks as well but i won't tell about those. i think my dad was p-ssed when i wasn't pleased about the black/white ratio reported at the school.

now i remember another black theft. a black boy in 1st grade stole an over sized hershey's kiss that someone else had won in an egg hunt

In my old highschool, it was 14% blacks. It wasn't that bad to tell you the truth, only got in one fight in the 4years I was there.


I went to the school 5 miles away, rich rich zone. 1% black kids and they were the geeky type. The messicans there filled in the blacks place.

In my junior high: zero blacks
In my high school: 1 black, he was bussed in from a juvenile detention facility (no joke)

I'd say I had as good a primary schooling education as any private school.

Went to College: 10-15% affirmative action nogs. When they came to class they'd sit in the back and talk, or sit out in the student union playing domino whistling at white b-tches,etc.
